Here are your assignments for this week:
Monday - write assignments in your agenda; e-mail me your name; take the STAR Reading test; Journal Entry #12 - "Your Custom this Christmas"
Tuesday - Take the Grammar Placement Test; finish all assignments from yesterday; read your AR book; Red Line Editing for #12 Journal Entry
Wednesday - Bell Ringer #1 - 9; Try to finish the Winter Storm Safety Checklist (see assignment to the left of this post) Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!
Thursday - (If we have school) Finish the Winter Storm Safety Checklist and Bell Ringers for this week
Friday - (If we have school) Turn in Bell Ringers for this week; Read AR book, Review and finish assignments from this week

CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE!! In order for us to celebrate this occasion, we need to celebrate the other holidays that you have been researching. Here is what we are doing this week:
Monday - On Demand due; Begin Country Presentation
Tuesday - Continue the Country Presentations
Wednesday - Presentations
Thursday - AR and AR Articles are due today
Friday - FINISH OUR Country's REPORTS!!! Have a blessed holiday season!!!!! (Am I using enough !?!?!?)

For the WEEKS of November November 30 - December 11

We have begun a GREAT adventure by learning other countries and their celebrations. Here is what we have discussed and what we plan to do this week.

Monday - Introduced Your Country's Celebration. Please look at an example located to the left of this post to see exactly what you need to do.

Tuesday -Reviewed the requirements for References

Wednesday - Reviewed the requirements for your presentations

Thursday - Lone Oak wide pep rally today (for the classes afterwards, we continued our research)

Friday - No School! Beat Boyle!!



Monday - Review requirements and look at rubric for your country's celebration.

Tuesday - Review requirements for your presentation.

Wednesday - Reference Sheet is due today!

Thursday - Paint, glue, research, type, and finish creating your presentation

Friday - Finish up your On Demand and prepare for your presentation next week!

For the Week of November 23 - 24

With Thanksgiving this week (YAHOO!!), your week is short but your assignments are long. Get ready!
Monday - In the Literature book, read the story, "For My Sister Molly Who in the Fifties." It begins on page 682. When finished, please take the AR test (#904). Complete and type your thankful letter/poem.
Tuesday - Turn in all late/missing work and staple to the Missing Assignment sheet. Finish all work you did not complete yesterday. Did you finish your Twitterature? GET IT DONE!! Journal Check today!

For the Week of November 9 - 13

Jones Twitterature has officially begun! I am excited to see all of the books that you would recommend to others. If you have not already accepted my invitation to become an author, MAKE SURE you do that today!

Monday - Accept to be an author on the website; Begin your rough draft for your "tweet;"
Tuesday - Continue your rough draft and begin your posted tweet. Third hour students will need to do some of this for homework. We will be attending a Veteran's Day presentation during your hour in my class.
Wednesday - Read page 473 in the literature book. The story is "from Always to Remember: The Vision of Maya Ying Lin." Answer the skills sheets and turn them in. We will also be going to a Veteran's Day field trip.
Thursday - We are reading another American pride story in our literature book. Read "from Sharing in the American Dream" on page 530 then answer the skills sheets. Turn them in when you are finished.
Friday - Heinz 57 Day (catch up day, get it?) - Finish your posted tweet and MAKE SURE your spelling is correct! Work and turn in all assignments that you have not completed. If you are up to date with everything, it is chocolate and AR reading for YOU!
